I think it is very important to clarify that this is the "Marin Suites Hotel" and NOT the "Marinwood Inn & Suites!" (I'm new to Booking.com & just missed the 90-day window to write my review of the latter at the same time...) While this Marin Suites Hotel really blew me away after my horrible experience at the other, I DO have to be fair and point out that neither one is a true 'hotel'. I would assume "hotel people" expect bar, restaurant, room service & valet service. However, for $124/night with tax in Marin County I thought this studio/1BR/2BR motel was a DREAM compared to the nightmare at the (literally) dirty Marinwood Inn! So forgive me if I gush too much. 80> If one knows construction he can tell that this is a large, older apartment complex that has been converted to a very unusual motel. The original pool has been retained, while handicapped lifts & beautiful plantings have been added as well as a jacuzzi, fire pit and TWO barbecue areas for guest use, plus a covered 'Sanctuary' between the 2 sections with tables, sofas, TV, fireplace & ice/food/drink machines (hidden behind sliding doors) for people to congregate in the evenings. There are also purchasable snacks in the lobby and a small guest laundry room. It even has multiple solar arrays on the roof to power everything. I arrived to find a 1BR suite waiting with <both> heat pumps set to 68, 2 TVs, and PLENTY of space, seating & a dining table for 4. New carpeting, tile, woodgrain vinyl strips, and a well-kept bathroom completed the picture. There was also a simple but spotless full kitchen WITH pots, pans, plates & utensils for for 4 (unlike Marinwood where even the lights & disposal didn't work.) The King bed was comfy and there was more closet & dresser space than you could possibly use.

Loved the spaciousness - we are a family of 6 and had lots of room with king size bed in one bedroom which we used for one adult and twins aged 4, 2 queen sized beds in a second bedroom for our boys ages 10 and 13 and 1 sofa bed in the living room for the other adult. Also loved that we had a kitchen with basic kitchen ware and cookware which we used to cook breakfast and some dinner. The boys liked the swimming pool and hot tub and we used the small fire pit to roast marshmallows one night. There are corn hole and giant connect four game in the yard grassy area. We also did laundry in the laundry room. The rooms and property were clean and staff was very friendly. Location was very close to Golden Gate bridge and San Fransisco as well as Muir Woods, Safeway and Trader Joe where you can get groceries. We will be sure to come back again!

This is a cute, comfortable Hotel with very large rooms with kitchenettes. We were impressed with the big windows, nice, comfortable bed, and quiet environment. Close to SF and also the Northern Bay area. VERY close to the ferry that will bring you to the city. We took the ferry to a Giants game. You need to drive to the terminal, but parking is free. I think it was 10.00 a ticket. Definitely the best way to see the city. The manager was very nice and explained to us how to open the pool gate, hours of the amenities and the neighborhood details. The hotel is being kept up nicely. Very clean!

Traveled with my three teen/young adult daughters. We had a 1 BR with living room and kitchenette/eating area - plenty of room for all of us and helped save money on meals. We arrived very late one night during the holidays and nothing was open - the hotel had good, reasonably priced pizzas and burritos in the lobby area, which we baked in our room. Good laundry facilities (complimentary laundry soap), good hot tub (didn't use the pool because it was late December and chilly/rainy), housekeeping did a great job with room cleaning.

The staff were friendly and helpful. The suites were perfect for us. Beds were very comfortable and there was plenty of space in our 2 bedroom suite for the 4 of us. The gym was an added bonus with nice modern equipment. The pool was great and the spa was lovely. Would definitely be back again. The gardens were well kept and it was a lovely place to spend 5 days.
